Presentations by the LOTC leadership to the MO Highway & Transportation Commission have positioned our area favorably to accelerate priority highway projects.

Community leadership has worked for many years in an informal Lake of the Ozarks Transportation Council to modernize the highway system serving the Lake area. The mission is to:

  • Stay abreast of major state and local transportation issues that affect our area.
  • Provide leadership and strategies to address these issues.


Jim Herfurth, recently retired CEO of Central Bank here at the Lake, continues as Chairman of the Transportation Council. A transportation consultant is on board to help us stay competitive with other areas of the state to obtain our share of scarce highway resources.
