Yes -- you can watch it happen…thanks to MoDOT’s willingness to use modern technology to keep the public informed. District 5 is placing digital pictures on its web site regularly to show progress of this massive project -- the largest, single grading contract in the history of Missouri transportation.

The largest bulldozer ever made by Caterpillar tumbles trees and dozes huge mountains of dirt in moving more than 7 million cubic yards of soil and rock for a new MO 5.	Massive trucks, also the largest ever built by Caterpillar, run at high speeds, 20 hours or so per day, to accomplish this huge earthmoving task. Each truck carries at least 60 yards of material--about 5 times the amount carried by normal dump trucks.
